Commercial Lawyer, Pat Brown Legal Pty Ltd. Alderley, Brisbane QLD. Corporate & Commercial Law (Legal). Full-time. $130,000–$160,000 per year. Pat Brown Legal is a boutique law firm that assists business clients in regulated industries, predominantly in the online bookmaking/gambling industry. We undertake a mixture of front-end and back-end work across all areas of commercial law, including regulatory advice and compliance, business sales and purchases, contracts, employment law, litigation, intellectual property, and more.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate commercial lawyer to join our small but growing team to help us meet the increasing demand for our high-quality, practical, and tailored client solutions. To be considered for this role, you must have an unrestricted practicing certificate (or be eligible to obtain one immediately). 3 years of post-admission experience (minimum) is essential, and experience with one or more regulated industries is desired.

Our office is in Alderley, Brisbane. You must reside within a reasonable commute to our office. This role is predominantly office-based. Salary is negotiable. A pathway to partnership/equity in our practice is available for a high performer.

Responsibilities: Supporting the Legal Practitioner Director with client matters. Managing client matters. Providing advice and casework in a range of areas. Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including letters, submissions, regulator responses, and contracts. Preparing court and tribunal forms and documents. Representing our clients before courts, tribunals, and commissions, and in regulatory discussions. Managing files and law firm records. Supervising lawyers and paralegals. Mandatory requirements. Admitted as a solicitor. Unrestricted practicing certificate (or eligibility to immediately obtain one). 3 years of post-admission experience (minimum). Experience in a law firm. Commercial law experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and practice management software. Independence and resilience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Live within a reasonable commute to our Alderley, Brisbane office.
