Who are we looking for? We’re looking for a Structural Technical Director to join our Resources and Materials Engineering group. The team you will join is a technical leader in the Mining and Energy sectors, with unparalleled access to industry shaping projects due to the diversity of GHD and our panel contracts with Tier 1 client organisations.

Your projects will include: Process and NPI within many commodities such as iron ore, gold, lithium and bauxite. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Input and review of project proposals, including scoping and engineering hours estimation. Undertaking concept designs for new infrastructure as well as remedial works or improvements to existing infrastructure. Guiding others in detailed structural design and providing technical mentoring. Undertaking quality assurance activities and providing the final sign off on design documentation and reports. Technical report writing including producing risk management documentation, ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements across engineering activities. Contributing to GHD’s knowledge and skills in structural engineering including planning, design and construction.

What would you bring to the team? Degree qualified structural engineering with CPEng. registration in Australia. 15+ years of engineering experience, with a focus in the local mining and resources sector. Strong technical design experience, including static and dynamic structures and fatigue sensitive structures. Experience and ability to navigate design analysis software such as Space Gass is essential. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and confident interfacing directly with clients, have good people relationships and networking skills. A drive to provide strong technical leadership, mentoring and advice to others.
