Senior Web Application Developer
Being able to see, communicate, and to locate, are the foundations of incident management. CommandWear is delivering a software platform that integrates mobile devices, networks, and applications to enhance situation awareness. We are passionate about making a difference and helping our customers save lives and protect property.
CommandWear is always on the lookout for the latest in mobile and wearable technology and whether it can be integrated into our product to benefit first responders. It's an exciting area that has a lot of possibilities - and we want to bring the best solutions to our customers.
As a result of building such a hands-on product, we do a great deal of real-world testing. Everyone in the company has had the opportunity to participate in field trials with local public safety organizations, which has refined our understanding of how our customers will use the product, and given us great insights into potential new features.
Ideally we're looking for full stack developers who are able to work on any part of our platform, but we're also interested in applicants who have a strong (and relevant) specialization.

    understands the importance of automated testing
    solid knowledge of software development fundamentals
We work with the following tech stack, familiarity with some or all of these technologies (or something similar) is a plus:
    PostgreSQL
    Ruby on Rails
    HTML & CSS, naturally
    Ember.js, jQuery
    PhoneGap / Cordova on Android, including some native plugin development in Java
In addition, experience with any of the following would be a definite asset:
    mapping / GIS / geomatics, particularly integration with Esri
    computer, networking, or information security
    graphical design & UX
