INTRODUCTION: SafetyGrip is looking for a TYRE BAY OPERATOR to join our team in Cape Town. This position will be site-specific.

Job Responsibilities: Complete puncture repairs on truck tyres. Fit truck tires. Breakdowns. Onsite and workshop. Breakdowns logged on the group. Ensure that vulcanized repairs are checked for leaks before they are sent for invoicing. Assist with packing of received stock. Assist with retread packing. Ensure that the workshop and work bays are clean at all times. Clean the tools and compressors. Truck wheel alignment. Complete the torque wrench registers after every breakdown. Ensure that torque wrenches are turned out after use. Ensure all jacks have hydraulic fluid. Regrooving. Daily surveys and rectifications. Mounting and demounting of truck tires. Vehicle inspections daily. Pump and survey daily. Stock holding checks. Report on any irregularities tire-related.

Job requirements: excellent communication and customer service skills. Demonstrate the ability for higher thinking. Good knowledge and understanding of the English language. Code 8 license preferable. Own transportation is compulsory. Clear criminal record. Must have experience in truck wheel alignment. Must be able to do physical work. Sound knowledge working with several tires.

Experience and education: Matric/Grade 12. Minimum of 2 years’ experience. Certificate of wheel alignment training.
