Calling all senior/principal policy officers with previous experience in population or public health and proven, highly developed skills in the provision of expert advice, research, data analysis, and the development of policy and strategy.
This is a great opportunity for you to lead and develop the implementation and evaluation plans to deliver priority actions in the South Australian Alcohol and Other Drug Strategy and provide high-level expert strategic advice on alcohol and other drug population health policy and programs to senior staff, directors, and managers.
Duties and responsibilities will include: cabinet submissions to progress funding bids and briefings to ministers. Coordinating and managing the implementation plan and negotiation with key governmental stakeholders. Develop the program initiation plan. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including other states and territories for information on the data collection and use
Co-lead consultation with key stakeholders. Partner with the lead government agency to deliver the project. Engage provider to progress a cost-benefit analysis. Developing policy positions on regulation of alcohol and other drugs in South Australia.
Ideally you will possess: an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in public health, knowledge of population health, and public policy-related experience, together with previous experience in drafting Cabinet submissions. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey complex information in a clear, succinct manner while considering target audience and desired outcome. Demonstrated ability to work independently under broad direction and proven experience in a similar role. Sound analytical skills to identify, evaluate, and address issues and an ability to plan and manage tasks, research, and associated data with due regard to policy.
