Why is this role for you? Let's be honest, doing admin work in an office can sometimes get a bit boring. Day in, day out it's the same old thing and there isn't much opportunity for you to learn new skills.
You fancy a change. A new challenge. And this role may be right up your alley.
You enjoy working on computers and back yourself to pick up using new software quickly. Like InDesign for example. Which will come in handy as you learn how to put together tenders and create site plans for projects.
You'd also be taught how to carry out internal audits for safety on projects and getting your head around new systems and processes in a construction environment. Don't worry though, you won't be overworked and understaffed. The office manager will show you the ropes in this office of 20 and there are plenty of people around to ask questions to, they are more than willing to help.
Day to day you'll be helping to do payroll, financial reporting, event planning etc within a friendly team with plenty of friendly chat and banter flying around. The directors are incredibly friendly and supportive which is a key reason why their staff retention last year was over 90%. With flexible working hours and a salary in the $70-$90k range, this is a cracking role if you are looking to dust off the cobwebs and learn some new skills.
This sounds perfect, but what do you expect from me? You don’t need to be the finished article to apply for this role as training is provided but you’d need to tick the 5 attributes below to be in with a shout. You’ve worked in a busy office environment for at least 2 years in Australia and you want to have a long-term career with a company.
You've got some understanding of Accounts payable/receivable and how to lodge quarterly BAS and monthly PAYG. You can multi-task and don’t mind the pressure of deadlines. You like to take on new challenges, like being the champion in the office for the companies social media on LinkedIn and Instagram. You can commit to office hours of 8.30 – 5.30 Monday to Friday in North Sydney. I’m intrigued, what’s the next step?
