Transport Property is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for providing land acquisition and associated services to infrastructure projects delivered by the Department and Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA).

About the Role: The Case Officer will support projects and a range of government land transactions (e.g. compulsory acquisitions, negotiation of leases/licences, purchases, temporary occupations, underground strata divestments and Planning and Environment Act claims) and associated compensation negotiations for our clients which include the Department's Groups, Westgate Tunnel Project, Level Crossing Removal Project, North East Link Project, Major Roads Project Victoria and Suburban Rail Loop Authority.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities: Effective Support of Land and Compensation Negotiations - support the division in effectively settling assigned land transactions in accordance with the relevant legislation and government policies and procedures. Business Support - successful and timely delivery of projects and services including reporting, records management, archiving, procurement, creating/maintaining purchase orders, invoice processing and receipting. Stakeholder Management - has develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders resulting in high levels of trust and stakeholder satisfaction. Innovation and Continuous Improvement - Identify and action opportunities for improvements in divisional processes, policies, standards and operations to improve the effectiveness of the division. Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

Key Selection Criteria: The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a Case Officer. The role requires an individual with strong knowledge of the property industry and an understanding of the associated challenges. The successful candidate will be responsible in managing tasks to achieve outcomes, coordinating and guiding team members and ensuring progress is tracked against established plans and taking corrective actions when necessary. A key aspect of the position is the ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement and actively seek opportunities to enhance processes and encourage others to contribute ideas. They will also leverage existing systems to improve work quality, efficiency and overall outcomes.

Stakeholder management is a crucial part of this position. The Case Officer will engage with stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and satisfaction is maintained. They will also link stakeholders with other areas as needed and address any concerns in a constructive manner.
