About the Role: An opportunity currently exists for a Grade 1 social worker to join our team at St. Vincent's Hospital, Fitzroy. This position is based in our neuroscience unit, covering neurosurgery, neurology, and stroke, alongside a grade 2 social worker on the same units. To fulfil this role, it is essential that you have experience working in an inpatient hospital social work position. Experience in an acute setting will be highly regarded.

To perform this role, you will: use your skills to undertake multi-dimensional, comprehensive psychosocial assessments; apply clinical reasoning; and formulate appropriate complex intervention and discharge plans. Liaise with patients, their families, and/or carers to coordinate, facilitate,, and communicate patient treatment and outcomes. Actively participate in quality improvement and research activities. Promote and develop positive relationships within the department, the wider organization, and with community partners. Classifications for Grade 1 Social Workers range from SC13 to SC16 ($72,716 to $84,188 per annum).

Your Contribution Bachelor Degree or Qualifying Masters in Social Work. Social work experience in an inpatient hospital setting is essential. Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain. Current Working with Children's Check is desirable. Please note: If qualified overseas, application must include qualification assessment letter from AASW to confirm eligibility for membership.
