QHSE Superintendent, Airswift. Gladstone, Gladstone and Central QLD. Health, Safety and Environment (Mining, Resources and Energy). Full time. $160,000 – $180,000 per year. We are seeking a QHSE Superintendent to conduct internal audits, provide training, and carry out investigations on board vessels, as well as support vessels for our clients who are leaders in global ship management.
Responsibilities: Carry out ISM/ISPS/MLC and ISO Internal audits on all types of company vessels. Carry out training as per the company standards, covering the Shipboard Safety. Management Systems, Various company software and Company guidelines. Carry out incident investigations as per Company and ISM code requirements. Support the company vessels visiting Australia as company representative, in order to prepare for external audits, and inspections. To support and provide assistance to the company vessel in case of an incident or accident. To liaise with the local vendors and suppliers to satisfy the urgent needs of company vessels. To liaise with local/Australian authorities to close out the audit/inspection findings. Maintain and develop positive relationships with authorities, vendors, crisis managers and other applicable maritime networks.
Assist the vessel concerning the operations as needed. (Cargo operations / Arrangement of stores/Crew change/Repairs etc.) Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services in case of any crisis involving company vessels. Monitor PSC trends, focus areas and ensure expectations of the PSCOs are well communicated to the company.
Required Experience: Technical skills. Auditing, ISO standards. Knowlege of maritime conventions and regulations. Knowledge of audit procedures and compliance standards. Professional skills. Deep passion for and a proven track record in driving superior quality assurance and compliance performance. High in self-awareness, emotional intelligence and ability to deliver results through others
Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Professionalism in handling sensitive audit information and reports. Adaptability to handle changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Master Mariner or Ship Master with experience on cargo vessels. Experience in auditing all types of ships, including offshore vessels. Experience in assisting ship staff on company-managed vessels for inspections, as a company representative.
