Performance Psychologist at the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS). We are looking for a performance psychologist to support our athletes in developing the psychological skills essential for their success in achieving program objectives. This role will involve managing mental health risks that arise in the pursuit of high performance and will ensure athletes' well-being remains at the forefront of all performance-driven goals. Please note that this role has a maximum term of 4 years with the potential to extend.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative key player in providing holistic athlete support. You will support the Psychology and Wellbeing Lead to drive practice standards across the organisation.

Role Overview:
In this role, your key areas of responsibility encompass: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic athlete support. Deliver evidence-based psychological skill interventions that support athletes to achieve performance standards per program objectives. Ensure high-performance environments are safe, policy-compliant, and conducive to athlete well-being.
About you: You are committed to upholding Australia’s High Performance WinWell pledge, putting athlete wellbeing at the forefront of your role. You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the application of psychology in a sporting environment. Current full registration with AHPRA as a psychologist. AHPRA endorsement as a sport and exercise psychologist (or undertaking endorsement) is desirable. Tertiary qualifications and supervised training as specified by the Psychology Board of Australia to meet their General Registration Standard. You have amazing interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with athletes, parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders alike.
You have or are able to attain a Working with Children Check and a National Police Criminal History Check. Above all else, you are a genuine team player that cares about others and always acts with kindness and integrity.
