About the role: MiChoice Disability Supports' is seeking experienced and compassionate Support Care Personnel to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. As a casual Support Care Personnel, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to live independently and achieve their personal goals.

What you'll be doing Providing personalised support and assistance with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. Accompanying participants to appointments, social activities, and community events. Working on our Hobby Farm, supporting participants with gardening, feeding goats, chooks, sheep, and alpacas, attending to rural life with fencing and irrigation, as well as bush art and craft.

Encouraging and assisting participants to participate in recreational and leisure activities

Documenting participant Shift Reports and communicating effectively with the broader support team.

Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of our participants and our employees. Implementing sleepovers and some weekends.

What we're looking for Previous experience providing support services to individuals with disabilities or in a similar care role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with participants, their families and the Allied Health team.

Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of our participants. Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent. A current driver's licence and access to reliable transportation. A valid police check and working with children/vulnerable persons check.
