Our story: Allevia Physiotherapy was founded in 2021 with a mission to help foster integrative assessment and collaboration with other health professionals. Our clinic focuses on treating complex headaches, neck, jaw, orofacial pain, and spinal conditions.

About the job: Fantastic opportunity to work and learn in a highly specialized area of craniofacial pain management. We carefully work with patients to coordinate individualized treatment and exercise prescriptions for complex pain presentations and individuals with specific spinal, jaw, and headache complaints. At Allevia Physiotherapy, we are very passionate about evidence-based medicine, integrative care, and working alongside other specialists to provide integrative medicine for patients with craniofacial pain. We also see and treat patients pre-operatively, in combination with orthodontic treatment plans, pre-post dental procedures, and following traumatic whiplash injuries. On the whole, it is a dynamic and exciting area to work in and is an amazing opportunity to develop skills in a highly specialized area of physiotherapy. You will have the opportunity to work with many specialists, including dentists, ENTs, GPs, prosthodontists,  and neuro and oral maxillofacial surgeons, to establish collaborative care and positive long-term treatment trajectories for our patients.

Conditions we treat: TMJ—joint pain and relevant joint conditions. Headache: migraine/cervicogenic, postural and TMD-related. Cervicogenic dizziness. Tinnitus and ear symptoms related to TMJ disorders or other cervico-craniofacial complaints. Spinal pain and rehabilitation Neck pain and stiffness. Collaboration with dentists/ortho/max fac. Complex pain presentations. Other musculoskeletal complaints, including shoulders/hips/knees/pre-hab osteoarthritis presentations. Pilates (one-on-one at this stage with hopes to develop into larger clinical space!)

Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive assessment and treatment plans. Provide thorough assessments and reports to referrers with management plans and suggestions so that patients are able to be involved in this plan and treatment can happen concurrently with other procedural planning/post operative care. Be able to put together specific exercise rehabilitation and advice for patients. Be willing to learn, grow and participate in professional development alongside Emily (the principal physiotherapist) and other team members as the clinic grows. Be willing to exchange and be open-minded.

About You: Part-time Physiotherapist and contractors are also encouraged to apply. Looking to learn, upskill and be involved in working alongside an amazing network of specialists, including Dentists, ENTs, GPs, Prosthodontists, Neurologists and Oral maxillofacial surgeons. Open to new graduates or experienced Physiotherapists wanting to build expertise in headache, neck, and jaw conditions. Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Current Professional Indemnity Insurance. Willingness to uphold APA requirements of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Maintenance of CPR and First Aid certificate (as required by APA). Current Continuing Professional Development (CPD) participation. Warm personality, open to learning and adaptive in nature. Have a positive persona and overall be a good-natured person.
