Disability Support Worker, Saturn Care. Canberra ACT. Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development). Casual/Vacation. $29.59–41.42 per hour.

ABOUT US: Saturn Care is one of Canberra’s leading support worker labour hire agencies. We are contracted by leading disability service providers to provide relief staffing 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our management team has many years’ experience in the sector, working across government and large and small non-government providers.

ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking individuals who are passionate to make a difference in people’s lives and enable them to live the life they want. Experienced support workers with a minimum of 20 hours of availability per week are encouraged to apply.

You will be working side by side with people either in their own home or a group home to assist in living the life they want to lead. They may need assistance in various areas, such as: daily living, grocery shopping, personal care and hygiene, meal planning and preparation; health & wellbeing, attending medical appointments and support with medication; transport, relationship building and connecting with friends and their communities.

About You The successful candidate will have the following: Ability to work independently and effectively manage time. Demonstrated understanding of a person-centred approach. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to connect with clients. Previous experience in a relevant industry, service or an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of activities required. Genuine interest in improving the lives of people with a disability. Covid 19 Digital Vaccination Certificate or Immunization Statement. NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to complete. First Aid and CPR Certification. Current Driver’s License. Own vehicle with a full comprehensive insurance.

Current Police Check Desirable Skills and Abilities: Previous experience as a disability support worker or similar. Experience dealing with Complex Care requirements. Manual Handling. Relevant certificate(s) in the field.
