The Role: Reporting to the Manager, Governance and Risk, and based in Windsor, the purpose of this role is to ensure that Council is complying with its legislative responsibilities and to provide effective and efficient governance advice to the management team, the organization, and the public.
About You: You will have a sound understanding of corporate governance and risk management, as well as demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of legislation. You will have strong leadership capability and be adept at building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders at all levels in order to deliver desired outcomes.
Essential Criteria: Demonstrated experience leading, providing direction, and motivating a team of staff. Sound understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and related functions. Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of legislation and relevant industry standards. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Understanding relevant legislative provisions, including the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998. Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Desirable Experience: A sound understanding of corporate governance and risk management in a government context. Understanding relevant legislative provisions, including the Local Government Act 1993, Local Government (General) Regulation 2021, and the State Records Act 1998.
