Embedded Software Engineer, Airswift, Perth, WA. Engineering: Software (Information & Communication Technology). Contract/Temp. Call for $$. 1x Embedded Software Engineer C/C++ (Experienced). Location: Perth. The company: is a key resource and renewable energy player. Assignment length: Up to 12 months initially (subject to agreement).

The Company: is a global operator of renewable energy looking to add to their ranks in a new renewables project in Perth.

Role: You will be a key member of the team and responsible for the development and configuration of the embedded control system. This is a Perth-based role on an initial 12-month contract.

Your Responsibilities: Design and develop software for distributed and real-time systems. Adhere to software development lifecycle workflows, processes, and frameworks. Ensure that software design, implementation, and testing adhere to relevant standards and Functional Safety requirements. Conduct thorough verification and validation processes for control systems and software to ensure high-quality, reliable, and consistent products. Diagnose and resolve software issues encountered during testing on benches, test vehicles, and field vehicles. Maintain a strong emphasis on product development to deliver systems ready for manufacturing and customer sales. Contribute to the development and integration of standards, workflows, and best practices. Support and implement quality engineering processes such as System and D-FMEA, Functional Safety, etc. Foster a culture that prioritizes quality and continuous improvement.

What You'll Need To Succeed: 5+ years’ Experience in software development for real-time and distributed systems in industrial applications, e.g. automotive, mining, marine, rail, road transport or similar. Proven experience in software for embedded control systems and C/C++ programming. Knowledge of embedded systems and experience developing in C/C++ . Knowledge of software architecture design in distributed systems. Understanding of network communications and protocols. (DDS, CANOpen, Modbus). Experience in utilising software deployment strategies. Experience with operating systems deployed in industrial edge computing, e.g. QNX, SafeRTOS, Linux, and Embedded Linux (Yocto). Skills relating to the full software development life cycle (documentation, requirements, testing, traceability). Experience with software version control systems such as Git or SVN is essential.

Knowledge of model-based design and development utilising MathWorks products is an advantage (Simulink, Stateflow). Experience with Functional Safety Rail SIL1 or SIL2-rated software development is advantageous (EN50128 or equivalent). Passion for identifying issues and discovering ways to fix them. Ability to apply creative thinking to solve problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Perth-based with full working Australian rights.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Software, or Mechatronics Engineering.
