Southern Cross Care Queensland is seeking a Residential Manager to lead the team at St Anne's Nursing Home in Broken Hill, New South Wales. Working in this 121-bed home, which includes a dementia support unit, you will lead a team of staff and manage resources efficiently to ensure the highest quality of life for the residents whilst ensuring that staff feel Known & Loved.

About the role: As the Residential Manager of this home, you will be responsible for providing individualised and holistic care to the residents, meeting the client's needs and upholding quality of services aligned with organizational standards. Additionally, you will be accountable and responsible for the financial management and achievement of the business plan for the site.
In this role, your responsibilities would include: Site strategy: Assisting with the development, monitoring and implementation of the business plan for the site and Resident care: Ensuring residents care needs are assessed in a holistic manner and plans of care appropriate to their needs are developed and implemented in consultation with the resident and their representative while supporting the residents and their families throughout their journey. Asset and site management: Overseeing and monitoring ongoing reactive and preventative maintenance requirements for the site and required works are carried out in cooperation and with support from the Property Team
Management of administrative aspects of the site includes accurate record-keeping and providing regular and timely statistical data on facility demographics, incident trackers, and other data as requested. Continuous improvement and planning. Financial management: Ensuring cost-effective performance as well as maintaining and monitoring of Occupancy rates.
Legislative compliance and continuous improvement: Ensuring clinical policies and guidelines are in place within the facility, ensuring compliance with the Aged Care Act and addressing all non-compliances by assisting in the formulation and implementation of an action plan.
People and performance management: Regular communication of individual and team goals through staff appraisals and other formal or informal meetings and discussions, as well as ensuring that staff are appropriately qualified, managed, developed and supported to meet their potential and achieve contemporary best practice in their area of expertise,. Providing leadership by encouraging consultation, collaboration, communication, coaching and mentoring, as well as ensuring staff development through learning & development activities in addition to mandatory training
Development and maintenance of a safe and secure environment: Ensuring compliance with all Workplace Health & Safety instructions and promoting education and workplace performance that supports safe workplace practices and, when necessary, timely incident investigations and correct follow-up.
What will you bring to the role? A current APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse is desirable. Demonstrated experience in the management of a Residential aging Care Facility. Strong knowledge of operating requirements within the health and Industry. Ability to conduct care plan assessments and associated financial analysis. Knowledge of legislative and operating requirements within the Aged Care Accreditation Standards. Strong experience in budget implementation and monitoring. Demonstrated asset and site management experience. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Highly developed communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the elderly, families, staff and management. Strong time management skills.
