Strategy and Precincts: The Strategy and Precincts is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning which defines and plans the needs and approach to Victorian places and communities. Integrated Land and Transport Planning division. Working collaboratively across state and local government, the division leads strategic land use and transport planning to shape a thriving and connected Victoria. The division delivers complex integrated land use and transport planning policies, guidance material, projects, studies and planning scheme amendments. Through this work, the division shapes how our places and transport networks are designed and planned, to deliver well located housing, jobs and services in healthy communities and environments.

Join us as a Senior Analyst Movement and Place and play a pivotal role in creating an integrated transport and land use system. You will lead complex data analysis and translate these insights into impactful visualisations and spatial mappings. Collaborate with state and local planners to achieve coordinated outcomes, using your expertise in GIS mapping, Power BI, and other visualisation tools. Work alongside multi-disciplinary teams, providing critical analytics to support transport studies and plans. Your efforts will embed movement and place principles, fostering a connected and thriving Victoria. Position Outcomes / Accountabilities: As a Senior Analyst, you'll transform complex data into actionable insights, enhancing the transport network's operational management and driving continuous improvement. Your expertise will influence policy and project development across various agencies. You'll deliver integrated transport advice, refine plans and strategies, and ensure system performance goals are met. Leading the development of Movement and Place spatial mapping, you'll support informed decision-making. You'll prepare high-quality analysis, reports, and presentations, fostering stakeholder relationships and leveraging data assets to create sophisticated analytics. Sharing knowledge on emerging trends, you'll keep products relevant and anticipate senior decision-makers' needs. Generates descriptive statistics and relevant data visualisation leading to decisions under the guidance from subject matter experts. Ability to utilise advanced excel formulas, pivot tables and generation of data charts is required.

Mandatory: Experience in working in and managing content distribution in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau). Knowledge and experience with professional spatial products and tools.
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in mathematics, statistics, engineering, information systems or equivalent. Experience in transport planning with a focus on strategic place-based outcomes.
