The Opportunity Reporting to the General Manager and due to business expansion, this is a newly created position. The purpose of this position is to plan, direct and coordinate all plant operations at optimum cost, consistent with Quality, Safety and Lean practices. You’ll be responsible for recommending, developing, and implementing new process solutions across Production, Transport and Maintenance.
Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will be to: Lead a culture of Environmental & Safety performance. Maintain, monitor & improve Quality awareness across Operations. Improve cost reduction via lean manufacturing, layouts & equipment. Recruit, lead, mentor & manage the resourcing of all Operations staff. Liaise with GM, Ops & Accountant to maximise Operational efficiency. Minimize operational costs to create higher margin performance. Liaise with Production, Sales & Service centers to fulfil supply. Project Manage with State Ops, Production, Despatch & Maintenance.
Your Skills & Attributes Ideally, you’ll have developed your career in Production and Operations, or Business improvement and be able to demonstrate most of the following: MBA or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing. Skilled in manufacturing, people management, coaching & delegation. High-level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Excellent self- and team-organizational abilities. Understanding of pricing, sales and the end use of all product lines. Understanding of maths concepts and profit/loss & income statements. High level attention to detail, time and QS management. Networks (eg Unions). Influence consensus with multiple stakeholders. Understanding of MSOffice, tools & technologies used in operations.
