Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced electrician to join our team in a full-time capacity. The successful candidate must hold accreditations as an electrical supervisor and a CEC/SAA-accredited PV and battery electrical license, with specialized expertise in solar PV and battery installation. This role encompasses various responsibilities, including conducting site inspections, providing crucial data to support our design team, solar PV & BESS installation, attending sites for preventative and reactive maintenance, and supervising subcontractor works during installation to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities Site Inspection and Data Collection: Conduct thorough site inspections to assess electrical systems, roof conditions, and other factors relevant to solar PV and battery installation projects. Capture all necessary information, including measurements, photos, and site-specific details, to support the design team in developing customized solutions. Collaborate closely with our design team to communicate site-specific details, project constraints, and any potential challenges identified during site inspections. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to ensure alignment with project requirements and client expectations.
Solar PV System Installation: Conduct site inspections to assess suitability for solar PV installations and capture relevant data for the design team. Design, install, and commission solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. Supervise subcontractors during installation to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with relevant standards. Provide oversight during the installation process to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations. Perform preventative maintenance on solar PV arrays, inverters, and monitoring systems to maximize energy production and system longevity.
Battery Storage Installation: Install and integrate battery storage systems with solar PV installations, ensuring seamless operation and compatibility with existing electrical infrastructure. Conduct thorough site inspections to evaluate site conditions and capture essential information for battery storage system design and installation. Supervise subcontractors during installation to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with relevant standards. Provide preventative maintenance and troubleshooting support for battery storage systems to optimize performance and reliability.
Preventative and Reactive Maintenance: Attend sites for scheduled preventative maintenance activities, including electrical system inspections, equipment testing, and component replacements. Respond to reactive maintenance calls promptly, diagnosing electrical faults and performing repairs to minimize downtime and disruption.
Safety and Compliance: Prioritize safety at all times during site visits and maintenance works, adhering to relevant safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards. Ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations to maintain the integrity and safety of electrical installations and equipment.
Qualifications and Skills: Valid electrical license and certification as an Electrical Supervisor. CEC/SAA Accreditation in Solar PV, BESS installation and maintenance. Experience in battery storage system installation and maintenance is highly desirable. proven track record in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Strong attention to detail and ability to capture accurate data during site inspections.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members. Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards, especially ISO quality and safety standards. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
