The role: Assist nursing and allied health professional staff in general daily care of clients including bathing, dressing, feeding and personal care. Participate in and assists with the supervision of client activities as requested by nursing staff and allied health staff. Participate in and assists clients with their rehabilitation and recovery programs including shopping, meal preparation, serving meals and community access, as requested by nursing staff or allied health staff. Undertake the Patient Safety Assistant role as and when requested.

Maintain the unit in a clean and homely state including bed making, assisting clients with personal laundry needs, and general household and kitchen duties. Protect clients and promote a safe working environment. Assist with transfers and escorts and undertakes patient behaviour management including control and restraint, in line with authorised practices. Monitor equipment and stock levels, reports breakages and stock shortages; and undertaking ordering as directed. Assist with general and special cleaning tasks, including assisting with infection control cleaning as required. Deliver and collect specimens and goods as required.

Roy Fagan Centre is situated in beautiful Lenah Valley with convenient free on-site parking or just a short walk from the centre. The Roy Fagan Centre is a specialised 41 bed facility to assess and treat elderly persons with mental illness and dementia. We offer 12-hour shifts: Morning 07:15 – 19:45, and Night 19:30 – 07:30. Roy Fagan encourages professional development and regularly offers in-services and one on one training opportunities.

Details of Appointment, Permanent full time shift-worker position working 76 hours per fortnight on a set rotational roster, commencing asap, notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary: $60,666 to $63,222 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
