In this role, you'll: You will be part of the Network and Assets, Project Services North team, based in Grafton NSW. The team is responsible for development and delivery of bridge rehabilitation and slope stabilisation projects, including soil nailing, rock bolting, piling, fencing, meshing, and earthworks.
Join the team as a Safety, Environment, Quality Officer where you will be responsible for providing safety, environment and quality support across the Region North. This position will primarily on slope stabilisation works, however you may also assist our bridge team from time to time.
This role coordinates the implementation, improvement and assurance of quality management systems, providing high-level advice to Project Managers, Surveillance Officers and Construction Contractors to ensure that works are being undertaken in accordance with SEQ requirements and system performance and assurance activities are being completed as required.
You will be reviewing Contractor documents and systems and conducting audits and site inspections/verifications, as well as being heavily involved in monthly reporting activities for projects, maintaining interal training records and developing better procedures for works to be carried out.
This is a fixed term opportunity to 31/12/2025.

About you: You have leadership or management experience in delivery of civil construction works, with experience in slope stabilisation or similar works being highly regarded.
You have proven experience in reviewing and implementing quality assurance systems, WHS and environmental management systems in construction industry projects coupled with experience in planning and implementing surveillance, monitoring, and assessing compliance.
Knowledge of quality systems and procedures will be critical to your success in assisting internal and external stakeholders, contractors and delivery partners to deliver projects within agreed timeframes, cost, quality, and scope.
You will be a strong communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships with contractors, other agencies and stakeholders, call out issues or errors and be able to manage client expectations to ensure all project management and management system requirements meet Transport for NSW customer expectations standards. You must hold a valid driver’s licence, be willing to work outside regular working hours and frequently travel throughout the region.
