Join our team as our next Allied Health assistant and embrace our holistic approach to care, building cherished relationships with our residents based on dignity and respect. Our Allied Health assistants, under the supervision of Registered Nurses and in collaboration with other care staff, provide quality services to our residents including personal care, hospitality, domestic assistance and support with implementing physiotherapy and rehabilitation plans. You’ll be a true all rounder in our team, promoting a culture of service delivery that aims to improve the lifestyle experience of our residents.
Some responsibilities may include but not be limited to: Supervising and assisting with daily hygiene of resident, providing extra assistance for residents with specific physical problems or frailty (e.g. showering, shaving, nail care, dressing, toileting). Assisting with the delivery of activities to enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of those in their care, including manual handling and mobility programs as designed by Physiotherapist or Registered Nurse. Assisting residents with hydration and nutrition including preparation of food and beverages and feeding where required. Assisting with basic cleaning such as spot cleaning of resident rooms and belongings to ensure a clean environment at all time.

What you will bring to the role? You will hold a Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent. Medication Assist Competency (desirable). You will have an understanding of Aged Care and Residents rights and responsibilities. You are dedicated to caring for older people to live their best lives. You will work well within a team environment and have a friendly approachable manner. Strong attention to detail and outstanding communication skills. You must be flexible with your availability and must be able to work night shifts. Who is Southern Cross Care Queensland?
