The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining at the Last Resort. Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest's needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: Welcome and greet guests with a smile and proper eye contact-Good Morning/afternoon/evening Sir, Welcome to Last Resort.”
Inform guests of specials, new games, movies and menu changes, and events. Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately.
Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in the point-of-sale system, collect money and determine correct change using company cash handling policies.
Use suggestive selling techniques with the guests.
Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter.
Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to the kitchen for cleaning.
Clean tables and/or counters after guests have finished dining.
Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards during food & beverage preparation, service, and clean-up.
Cleans and maintains all areas of the store to promote a clean image.
Perform side duties at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
Keep work area stocked and clean, as well as perform cleaning.
Proper operation and use of café equipment.
Contributes to a positive work environment. Makes an effort to improve job skills, knowledge, and education.
Assists in completing the opening and closing checklist.
Cooperate in a friendly and “team spirit” way with the other employees and Manager/Supervisor. Communicates with co-workers and management to solve problems and improve the quality of our customer service.
