Accountant, Financial Manager, City Centre, Cape Town. A leading group of companies offers an exciting opportunity to an Accountant / Financial Manager to take responsibility for the foreign investment portfolio of the group. The position will be based in Cape Town (City Bowl) although flexible working hours might be agreed.

Key performance areas:

Reporting: compiling and consolidating monthly management accounts, compiling weekly cash analysis, forecasts and budgets, compiling daily investment value schedules, reporting on profit/losses on share trading as they occur, reporting weekly on forex balances and their translation, presenting reports to management.

Compliance: facilitating annual audits for offshore entities, acting as chief liaison between foreign companies and auditors, Income payments, Reviewing and reporting on daily investment income. Correspondence with brokers re shares management.

Other duties: Reviewing all bank reconciliations. Maintaining fixed asset registers. Reviewing contracts and agreements.

IT:  Maintaining daily, and monthly systems backup; managing electronic filing system

Minimum requirements: BCompt-/B. Accounting honours or similar. Completed SAICA trainee contract. At least 3 years post article experience.
