My client, one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of vacuum pumps, blowers and compressors in the world, is looking for a Workshop Technician for the Western Cape area to join their highly passionate team in Brackenfell, setting and achieving high targets. Their vacuum pumps are a critical part of their customer’s process so if they need to be repaired or serviced then a quick and accurate response is critical. This means the successful candidate will need to be able to manage many issues at once and respond effectively to customer needs both during normal work hours but also outside of normal hours. The position also carries a sales responsibility which will have numbers formalised in the budget.
You may be the successful candidate to join the Brackenfell team if you have: 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a service workshop, doing both mechanical & electrical work on pumps and motors, ideally vacuum pumps. Minimum Grade 12 or N6 and a trade as Millwright or Fitter & Turner. Forklift driving experience / license will be an advantage. Experience or the ability to liaise with customers in a professional and courteous manner. (You will be contacting customers to discuss fault finding and servicing of their pumps and also to inform them when their pumps will be serviced / repaired and delivered back to the client.)
Good communication skills, verbally and written. A history of being professional, a team player, deadline driven, can accepts change and multitask successfully. A valid driver’s license. Good IT skills. MS Office knowledge and ideally Pastel experience. The willingness to work overtime when required. The personality attributes and technical skills atypically associated with successful Workshop Technicians.
