Facilities Manager
Theatre for a New Audience, an award-winning Off-Broadway classical theatre company, seeks an experienced Facilities Manager. The Facilities Manager will report to the Director of Operations and will be based at the Theatre’s Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Downtown Brooklyn. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for maintaining the facility within authorized schedules, procedures and budgets.
Responsibilities include:
Supervise full-time Facilities Associate.
Have direct accountability for the following areas: building maintenance, logistics, systems, machinery and operations. This person works to ensure that all facility functions operate smoothly in support of TFANA’s mission.
Serve as the point person and maintainer of all facility equipment in all spaces; gain strong knowledge of building systems, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.
Maintain, inspect, and repair all facility equipment and supplies, including but not limited to generators, plumbing, electrical, IT/Telcom room, HVAC.
Cover performances as needed (through building closing).
Serve as Fire Safety Director for Polonsky Shakespeare Center.
Oversee deliveries and pick-ups for the building.
Keep staff informed of all facilities issues (i.e., post signs regarding issues/concerns, communicate directly or via email about disabled technology, etc.).
Work with staff as necessary on all productions, rentals and special events/projects held throughout the year including staff retreats, benefits and galas, community events, and other events throughout the year.

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders and work on the grid and the ability to work at height using work equipment and a range of floor-based access equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals and plots.
Excellent computer skills including experience of Microsoft Office, Outlook and CAD drawing packages.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in facilities management, including experience with mechanical, electrical engineering and plumbing.
At least two years’ experience.
Experience managing a theatre space in NYC desired, but not required.
Full time position beginning in February, 2014 - competitive salary plus benefits.
