Heritage Interpreter (Exhibit Interpreter (Part Time))
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Part Time, Weekend, Day, Evening
Salary: $10.50 hourly for 15 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia (2 vacancies)
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Some university
Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Not applicable, Not required
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
Establishment / Work Setting Experience: National museum, Children's museum, Cultural centre, Nature museum, Science and technology museum, interpretive centre
Area of Technical Specialization: Interpretation/guiding
Specific Curatorial Assisting Skills: Conduct research for curators, Maintain exhibits data base
Specific Interpretation / Guiding Skills: Prepare program content, Deliver and evaluate programs, Handle complaints
Additional Skills: Prepare reports, Operate audio-visual equipment, Operate computer systems
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driver's validity license check
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking
Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Air conditioned
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's license
