Location: Woodstock, Cape Town, Job Type: Contract. Microchem Lab Services has an exciting vacancy for a suitably qualified Analytical Chemist at our Cape Town. Laboratory, Chemistry Division.

Qualifications and Experience: BSc / B-Tech / M-Tech Analytical Chemistry. Experience: 3-5 years laboratory work experience(incl. practical experience). Instrument experience requirements:  strong HPLC/GC/ICP skills. Familiar with ISO 17025(2017) requirements. Nutritional Testing experience would be a advantageous. Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to). Compile and interpret results of tests and analyses. Provide technical support and assistance to lab manager. Maintain laboratory instruments. Check chemical consumable stock levels. Assist and monitor junior analysts.

Check accuracy of test results. Work in accordance of laboratory quality system ( ISO17025 - 2017) Assist lab manager in maintaining laboratory quality system (verification records, control charts).

Requirements: Excellent problem-solving ability. Be able to work in a team. Be able to make recommendations and implement new techniques. Be able to work with minimum supervision. Customer centric approach. Ability to assist clients with queries. Proven ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines. Salary: Market related, based on experience.
