Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Completion of university
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Work Setting: Government, Recreational institution
Area of Instruction: Arts and crafts, Dance or movement, Fitness, Individual sports, Organized games, Team sports
Area of Functional Expertise: Athletic safety or standards regulation, Coaching, Event planning and organization, Program planning and development, Program implementation and delivery, Program evaluation
Specific Skills: Schedule facility programs and staff, Co-ordinate facility sports, fitness and recreation programs and activities, Purchase facility sports equipment and other supplies, Develop program budgets, Design, develop and deliver fitness counselling and exercise programs, Design, develop and deliver social/recreational programs, Coordinate special events such as tournaments and banquets
Additional Skills: Supervise professional staff, program leaders and instructors and volunteer staff, Recruit and select professional staff, program leaders and instructors and volunteers, Answer requests, inquiries and complaints, Use computer applications
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence, Public transportation is not available
