Location, Hermanus, Overberg, Job Type Full-Time. Our client is looking for a Suitably Experienced General Manager to manage an aquatic animal health laboratory and consultancy based in Hermanus, Western Cape.

An individual who would be eager to learn all aspects of the business from traditional business management to laboratory methods and standards is essential. 

Key areas of expertise: Staff Management. Financial Management including budget management. Client Engagement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Project Management skills. Knowledge of scientific and technical aspects. Knowledge of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries aquaculture legislation would be an advantage.

Minimum Requirements: Valid driver’s license (must be prepared to travel occasionally). 5 years of general management experience. 2 years project management exposure.

Of benefit: (but not essential) BSc degree or similar (zoology/marine biology/aquaculture or related studies). Formal management training (HR, Financial Management, Client Communication). 2 years aquaculture experience.
