VMC Game Labs is looking for a Translation Project Manager to support our fast growing service line.
The role will cover coordinating and overseeing translation projects from start to end.
The candidate will have day-to-day communication with clients and supervise all stages of the project and other members of the division (translators, editors and a small team of project managers).
The candidate will support the translation department with improved processes, workflow management and implement latest translation technologies.
The role requires an individual with extensive experience as a translation manager, is used to handling large scale and complex translation projects. We are looking for excellent organizational and management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, good IT skills with the ability to multi-task.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Develop project strategies/plans/instructions and run translation projects from start to end.
    Identify, assign, schedule , supervise and train team members for projects (translators, publishers, and other individual resources)
    Liaise with clients and produce project quotations for clients, communicate with clients about project status, queries from translators, and other issues.
    Design, implement and manage an efficient translation process within the company, relying upon internal and external translation resources.
    Introduce translation best practices and translation IT tools and ascertain their consistent use.
    Recruit freelance translators, rate negotiation and maintain the translator database
    Monitor performance of the translation service, ensuring that the translation quality required by clients is achieved.
    Establish and monitor strict quality control guidelines for in-house and external vendors.
    Manage and motivate a team of in-house translators, administrative assistants and external service providers.
    Ensure that staff members have the right competencies, objectives and motivation in order to meet strict quality guidelines and deliver results.
    Provide engineering support to Project Managers.
    Maintain translation memories and terminology databases
REQUIREMENTS:
    5+ years of experience in Translation project management
    Good communication and interpersonal skills
    Strong commitment to quality and eye to detail
    Extensive experience with CAT tools (Trados Studio 2011, Memo Q)
    Excellent communication skills, in both French and English
    Up to date with the latest translation technologies and trends
    Ability to drive change and innovation
    Ability to manage, coach, develop and motivate people
    Localization Engineering experience preferred
