Category Manager: Gaming, Location, Tokai, Southern Suburbs, Advertised By Private. one of South Africa’s leading Online Retail companies, is looking for a talented and highly motivated category manager to join our team in Cape Town. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of Gaming category including software, merchandise, console hardware and accessories and PC gaming hardware (components and accessories). What would you do: Work as part of Loot.co.za’s Category Team and handle of the day-to-day management of the Gaming category including product data, newsletters, new release orders, stock management, merchandising and pre-order management.
You’ll be able to: Think strategically and take initiative. Work independently as well as with a dynamic and growing category team. Manage new releases and pre-orders and ensure that all release-related deadlines are met. Identify opportunities for deals and stock buy-ins and implement and manage “scans” and rebates. Ensure all product data is up-to-date including images and video content. Efficiently handle customer queries and take a customer-centric approach when required. Have your finger on the pulse of local and international market trends. Approach the Gaming category holistically with a 360° approach that covers all aspects from software to components. Utilise local gaming industry social media.
You’ll need: Extensive Gaming software and hardware product knowledge (both console and PC). Attention to detail. Keenness to learn. Proven analytical, communication and negotiation skills. To know your way around an Office Suite, effectively use email and be at home on the internet.
