This proud Australian owned and operated business has been delivering 20% YOY profitable growth for the past 5 years and has anticipated revenue of c$65mn-$70mn for FY 2025. They are importers and distributors of speciality products and tailored solutions to the industrial distribution, retail and warehousing sectors. The ELT are an agile and driven team who thrive on a “can do attitude” and willingness to go the extra mile to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.  This hire will augment the team and bring additional learnings, knowledge and experience of scaling a business in readiness for a future liquidity event.

The General Manager Finance and Commercial is a key member of the leadership team, working in collaboration with the CEO and Heads of Sales, Marketing, Warehousing and Logistics to execute the growth strategy. You will own and deliver all aspects of finance as well as decision support, reporting to board ensuring the platform (systems, process and people) is solid and robust to support continuing growth over the next 3-5 years. Key focus areas are adding commercial value across margins, inventory, supply chain, logistics and stock and unlocking the CEO and ELT to focus on other activities.

Key deliverables will include project managing a new finance system implementation (NetSuite) as well as setting up a corporate structure following the integration of two entities. Further growth is envisaged through organic and corporate transactional means, with your focus being on initial due diligence, negotiation and post deal integration ensuring processes and systems are best in class, efficient and driving value from the growth. You will be technically proficient and hands-on across foreign currency transactions, hedging, reporting and financial control - in essence this role is calling upon a utility player who can “operate in the weeds” but also see the elevated picture and be able to move seamlessly between the two. This is a business looking at an exit event, and you will play a pivotal role partnering with the CEO and external advisors, lending institutions and auditors to deliver this outcome.

You are a seasoned finance executive (CPA, CA, CIMA qualified) with a strong grasp of product importing and distribution across a complex supply chain, inventory and distribution footprint.  You can demonstrate adding value in a high volume transactional business with a passion for driving business insights, data analysis and implementing robust frameworks to facilitate future growth. Your commitment, passion and energy will be rewarded with a competitive package and a share of the upside post exit. Prior experience operating within Private Equity, Family Office or taking an organisation through successful Trade Sale would be favourably viewed.
