Database Administrator, Location, Other, Cape Town, Job Type Full-Time. A vacancy exists at our campus in Westlake Business Park, Cape Town for a Database Administrator. Reporting to the IT Director, you are a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of databases and IT architecture.

You have: Industry/discipline-specific qualification (e.g. ITIL Expert). Diploma or degree level qualification (or equivalent) in technical field of expertise. Evidence of continuing professional development within professional field. As an DBA you will be responsible for: Data modeling. Database design. Capacity management. Database administration. Storage management. Problem management. Requirements Definition and Management

You have the following skills: Oracle PL/SQL. SQL. C# or C++ or Delphi (object orientated).

Web Services/SOAP  Personal skills/attributes: Some experience in team management or evidence of people management skills. Working to tight deadlines in a technical environment. Commitment to continuous improvement. Financial knowledge of IT requirements and methods. Exposure to project governance within their specific area of IT  Job Functions Information Technology.
