Location Aliwal North, Eastern Cape Advertised By Private Job Type Full-Time Assistant Manager sought to help manage and maintain a well-established 33-bedroom country inn and conference venue located in Aliwal North, Eastern Cape. The role requires flexibility and a willingness to work on weekends or to work overtime as needed. Remuneration consists of a fixed monthly salary and an annual discretionary performance bonus. On-site accommodation is also provided. The successful candidate will form part of the management team and help to oversee all aspects of guest house operations. Responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to overseeing a sizeable staff complement, attending to the day-to-day management of the business, maintaining financial records and generating monthly reports through to client communication, human resources management, marketing and promotion. Other responsibilities include the daily supervision of – and involvement in – all areas such guest relations, front desk, food & beverage, housekeeping, security, staff transportation, and property maintenance. Requirements: Passionate about client service Trustworthy, honest and hardworking Fluent in English (written and spoken)Presentable and professional Strong time management skills & task prioritization Strong numeracy skills Basic understanding of accounting systems Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Valid driver’s license & clean driving record Valid South African passport / identification document Legally permitted to work in South Africa Minimum qualification of National Certificate / Matric Not required, but preferred experience: Previous experience in the hospitality industry QuickBooks Accounting Nights bridge, Semper and/or other Property Management System (PMS).Fluent in Afrikaans, Xhosa and/or Sotho Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution Experience and/or training in food preparation and catering will be a distinct advantage.
