Location, Wellington, Cape Winelands, Advertised By Private, Job Type Full-Time, We have a vacancy for a professional sous chef, who can follow the specifications and guidelines from the Executive Chef and who wants to learn from the best. We are looking for a hardworking, easy-going and enthusiastic person, who can take initiative, work under pressure and employ his/her culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities: Help in the design and preparation of all food. Produce high quality plates with regards to both design and taste. Execute dishes and meals with accuracy. Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our high quality standards. Stand in for Executive Chef when necessary with regards to both planning and execution. Resourcefully solve any problems that arise. Manage and train kitchen staff. Establish working schedules and assess staff performance. Maintain a professional and positive approach with staff and customers. Apply high cleaning standards to all parts of the kitchen. Help in the ordering of supplies

Requirements: Relevant qualification with a recognized institution. Minimum 3 years relevant experience. Good understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures. Familiarity with industry leaders and following of the latest culinary trends and techniques. Ability to manage a shift independently, including managing the staff. Accuracy and speed. Basic computer skills. Code 08 driver’s license. Own transport will be beneficial. English proficiency is a minimum requirement. Basic Afrikaans proficiency will be beneficial. Remuneration will be market related and negotiated with the successful applicant. Shared accommodation on the premises will form part of the package.
