VEX Performance is an automotive service centre located in Calgary, Alberta. We are specialized in Japanese and Domestic vehicles and have a specialism in Rally cars. We do everything from regular maintenance to performance upgrades, into full race car development. For our race car department we have a position for a:
Rally Car – Automotive Service Technician with proven experience in the World Rally Championship Series.
Employment type: Permanent, full time
Location: 5720 1st SW, Calgary, Alberta
Salary/benefits: $25.90/hour to start, depending on experience and up to $ 30.00/hour. You are entitled to 10 days of paid holidays.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Rally Car - Automotive Service Technician is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day activities in regard to all maintenance and development of Rally cars. This position requires the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to reach specific goals.
Position Responsibilities:
The Rally Car- Automotive Service Technician  is expected to be able to demonstrate his/her capability to understand and perform the following technical functions:
    Works with the General Manager to achieve and exceed productivity requirements, including but not limited to: Health and Safety, Quality control and Maintenance.
    Works with the General Manager to achieve excellent marketing results.
Duties include:
    Diagnose, repair and complete service on Rally car vehicles
    Setup and optimize Rally specific suspension settings
    Service and Overhaul Rally Specific racing equipment including Engines, transmissions, and suspension systems
    (Re)built complete (new) Rally cars
    Mechanical inspection using computerized diagnostic equipment and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate Rally car vehicle problems.
    Advise customers and associates on Rally car safety issues, work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements
    Maintain mechanical service equipment on a regularly scheduled basis.
    Operate company and customer vehicles in a clean and safe manner; use proper barriers to maintain vehicle cleanliness, and ensure equipment and loads in company vehicles are safely secured for transportation.
    Support customer relationships by responding to customer inquiries.
Requirements:
    Excellent communicating skills; must have ability to speak, write and understand English
    A minimum of three (3) years experience as a Rally Car Technician specifically in the WRC (World Rally Championship) Series
    Be able to understand the importance of safety in the Rally Car business
    Completion of college/vocational technical training in automotive repair
    In posses of Alberta Qualification Certificate or able to qualify for Alberta Qualification Certificate
    Excellent problem solving skills
    Reliable, motivated, flexible, organized, and have expert knowledge and skills to provide a superior customer and Rally car automotive mechanical service
    Focussed on meeting goals and targets
    Ability to work in a team, under pressure, handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously;
    Good work ethic and self-motivated
    Willing to relocate to Calgary
