What’s the opportunity: A fast growing company making organic food for kids is looking for an experienced Marketing and Communications professional to join our head office in Port Melbourne. This is a newly created full-time role that will assume ownership of marketing and communication activities to ensure they are aligned to our business goals, brand and marketing objectives, and social and environmental mission.
This role will create and deliver marketing initiatives to ensure the business becomes more well-known in Australia as the “healthy kids’ food brand” through innovative strategies that engage the hearts and minds of mums, dads and kids. You will focus on increasing brand awareness, deepening customer relationships (both consumer and trade) and community engagement, increasing sales, and maximising our social and environmental impact.

You will be responsible for the execution of multiple key tasks in an extremely cross-functional role, including: Social media, Managing all social media channels – including creating/posting creative and engaging content, increasing followers/customers, increasing engagement rates, tracking statistics, Responding to customer post, enquiries, etc. Blogger and influencer outreach – to increase brand awareness, customer engagement, sales Online marketing, Developing, implementing and managing digital promotions and campaigns to drive brand awareness, online traffic and online sales, Creating and implementing a Digital Marketing System (e-DMS), Implementing initiatives to increase e-DMS subscriber base and response rates, Managing Search Engine Marketing (SEM) activities and budget, Analysing and reporting on campaign and promotion effectiveness
Website: Creating, sourcing and updating content for website, blogs and e-newsletter, Managing website systems (WordPress / CMS, e-newsletter / MailChimp, e-commerce / Woo Commerce, Google Analytics, etc.). Uploading new products, pricing, etc. information. Managing Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Improving online capabilities (including, but not limited to, user experience, conversion rates, functionality). PR/media. Working with external PR agency to identify opportunities and implement activities
Communications: Developing and managing internal (Whole Kids) and external (retailer/distributor/key account) communications, Assisting with the management and ongoing development of Whole Kids Small Seeds Community Grants program, including relationships with grant recipients, sharing project news/outcomes, etc.
Assisting with marketing/communications activities associated with Whole Kids social and environmental advocacy and awareness campaigns, including grassroots engagement and media.
Other key tasks include: Coordinating and implementing sponsorships, including events, trade shows, activations, and sampling. Developing packaging briefs for new products and assistance with copywriting and design. Managing all point-of-sale and merchandising materials for our sales team, and sourcing new materials as required. Creating and developing print marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, in-store posters, etc.
What you will need to have: A thinker AND a doer – you get excited about creating new ideas and even more buzzed about putting all your energy and skills in making those ideas come to life. Passionate about making the world a healthier and happier place for kids. At least 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in marketing and communications. A deep understanding and previous experience in digital marketing is mandatory. Impeccable communication skills – you’re a natural storyteller. You know how to craft compelling and engaging communications for different audiences. Previous involvement in Brand Management would be advantageous. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects – you need to be resourceful, imaginative, and know how to prioritise tasks to get things done in time. Knowledge of social media platforms, Wordpress, Mailchimp and office applications (MS Office mandatory).
