An opportunity for an experienced Finance Officer has become available at Palliative Care Australia. The role reports to and works closely with the Corporate Services Manager to efficiently manage the organisations finance and compliance requirements.

To be successful in this role you will have recent, significant experience in a similar role, preferably in a not-for-profit organisation. You will have clear communication skills, excellent time management and a demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with co-workers.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have: A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting/finance/business studies and demonstrated work experience; Demonstrated financial, analytical and conceptual skills; Demonstrated proficiency in MYOB undertaking functions in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and end of month processes such as bank reconciliations, superannuation payments, BAS and PAYG; Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse range of people; Proven capacity to produce high quality advice and reports in a timely manner; Demonstrated initiative and self-management skills.

Desirable: Knowledge compliance regimes applicable in the not-for profit sector (ie: ACNC, Grant Reporting processes etc); Understanding of and experience in community services and/or not-for-profit sector; Understanding of the role of a peak agency; Ability to work legally in Australia.

This position is part time with a total of 15 hours per week subject to a three month probationary period. It is expected that the successful candidate would undertake the role over 3 days a week, with the hours per day negotiable.
