Digital Communications Officer (Voluntary Internship), Employer: Act for Peace, Work Type/s: Volunteer, Classification/s: Communications & Marketing, International Aid & Development, Sector/s: Not For Profit (NFP), Location: Sydney, During this five-month voluntary internship you’ll develop your digital communications and project management skills and be part of the day-to-day running of a busy international aid agency. You’ll also have the unique opportunity to make a real difference to some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
You will be responsible for helping our website perform at its best to help us raise more money online. This includes ensuring content is up to date and organised in the best way for our audience to use easily, testing different layout options to see where improvements can be made and helping to make sure our content is findable by search engines such as Google.
Throughout you’ll be learning from and be supported by an experienced team of communications professionals.
The role is flexible and varied and we are looking for someone who can work from our Sydney office for three days per week, from September to December 2015.
Key Responsibilities: Publishing & updating content on the Act for Peace website using our content management system
Identifying potential changes that could be made to the website content, layout and set-up to make the website more findable through Search Engines such as Google
Testing different versions of pages and using website analytics to identify where improvements could be made to improve online experience for our audience and increase online donations
Help the Marketing and Communications Team in the delivery of email marketing including database management, building emails and analysing results
Help with digital reporting to measure success of the website and online marketing activity
Play an active role in the Act for Peace Communications team and support the development of the Act for Peace communications strategy
Throughout the internship you’ll get support and guidance to help you to learn the necessary skills to perform the role.
