About the PARC program: Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) is a step up, step down facility that provides psychosocial support at the earlier stages of relapse and to prevent the need for hospitalisation. The Program operates in partnership with Peninsula Health. It is a 24 hour residential environment that facilitates the development of skills for independent living as part of an individual’s recovery journey.

About this opportunity: The Program Worker will work within the psychosocial rehabilitation model to support our participants in various practical ways to develop and maintain skills with daily living, access services and encourage linkages with the local community. Overall, the Program worker will facilitate and assist individuals to develop skills for independent living.

Key skills & qualities: To be successful in this role, you will possess the following key skills: Qualifications in social science or similar discipline or relevant experience, Previous experience working in mental health, preferably in a residential setting, Strong understanding of the psychosocial rehabilitation model, An understanding of mental health issues and experience working with people with severe mental illness and complex needs and to work with a Recovery orientation, Flexibility to work a rotating roster including sleepover shifts, Comfortable working independently as well as an active team member, Building strong partnerships and working in collaboration with other services, Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
