Software Performance Engineer in Test
We need highly skilled performance engineers to join our QA team in Vancouver. You will join a stalwart team of engineers responsible for taking our software over the finish line and onto the production podium.

You will test the performance of our software and our infrastructure. You are a professional pessimist with a positive attitude. You are the first to detect problems, can sniff out a bottleneck a mile away, and tracking down the cause is elementary.
You wear many hats and look stylishly enigmatic in all of them. You move seamlessly between Engineering, QA, and Ops to solve cases and ensure the highest quality of product. As well as your unparalleled logical reasoning, superior tracking skills and impeccable hat fashion, you are an all-round team player. You can build trust and bridges, and trustworthy bridges. You collaborate a lot and always put the needs of our software and our customers first.
We need you to:
• Participate in all aspects of testing an enterprise-level product; collaborate with developers, product managers and operations to ensure correct acceptance tests are produced in the most efficient manner
• Assist in the creation of performance, scalability and reliability test plans to capture test requirements, assumptions and test conditions
• Design and implement a robust test framework and test scripts for system performance, scalability and reliability testing
• Develop testing tools to simulate production data with applicable data privacy practices and drive testing of key system components
• Provide guidance in building performance test environments
• Run performance, scalability and reliability tests to find performance bottlenecks
• Analyze system performance metrics, document the test results, identify and report performance issues
• Continuously monitor the performance of the production system; determine usage patterns and trends and adjust the test plans proactively
• Assist Team Leaders in defining and improving the QA process
• Produce documentation for internal audiences
• Assist in mentoring and training of new staff
Required Skills
• Solid understanding of network, database, and server operation as they relate to load testing
• Java programming; understanding of software principles such as multi-threading, memory management, caching and garbage collection
Experience
• You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years' experience in a formal software QA environment
• 2+ years' experience with performance test simulations, performance analysis, performance tuning, and performance monitoring in a multi-tiered cloud environment (AWS EC2)
