About the role: Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Coordinator of Accounting Services will play a vital role in providing leadership and guidance to our finance team. This role involves overseeing the city’s financial reporting and compliance obligations, as well as ensuring the integrity of financial data and reporting.
Key responsibilities: Lead the finance team, setting work allocations and priorities to ensure high-quality day-to-day operations, compliance with statutory requirements, and adherence to Council policies, procedures, and practices. Manage the financial and supply chain modules of the city’s TechnologyOne – Ci Anywhere system, including overseeing the year-end rollover process.
Take the lead in managing audits, including communication with auditors and the Office of the Auditor General.
Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and mid-year budget review. Complete annual financial statements, end-of-year audit work papers, and general reconciliations.
About the successful candidate: The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in finance or accounting and/or substantial equivalent experience in a similar role, preferably in local government.
Other essential requirements include substantial experience working with the TechnologyOne-Ci Anywhere system, extensive knowledge of financial discipline and the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards, well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, sound supervisory and leadership skills with relevant experience, strong problem-solving, analytical, and research skills, and a current National Police Certificate.
What we offer This permanent, full-time position offers a cash salary of $111,392 - $129,437 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus superannuation. 5 weeks of annual leave.
