GENERAL MANAGER – ADELPHI HOTEL, MELBOURNE: An exciting leadership opportunity is now available at the Adelphi Hotel, a vibrant 34-room boutique hotel on Flinders Lane in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. Known for its bold design, personalized service, and unforgettable guest experiences, Adelphi is now entering a new chapter — and we’re looking for a driven and experienced general manager to take the reins.

With support from 1834 Hotels, a leading Australian hospitality management group, this role offers the chance to oversee one of Melbourne’s most distinctive properties — and play a key role in relaunching an exciting food & beverage space within the hotel.

The Role: We are seeking a dedicated, hands-on general manager to lead daily hotel operations, drive performance across all departments, and relaunch a unique hospitality space. You’ll bring experience in both accommodation and food & beverage operations, with a strong focus on revenue management, financial performance, and exceptional guest service.

You will be responsible for: Overseeing all hotel departments, including front office, housekeeping, F&B, and maintenance; Leading, developing and mentoring a diverse, service-focused team; Driving sales, local engagement, and guest satisfaction; reopening and revitalizing the on-site food & beverage space; managing financial performance; ensuring compliance with Work Health & Safety and company standards; and maintaining high presentation, service, and operational excellence across the property.

What You'll Need to Succeed To thrive in this role, you will need: Previous experience in General Manager or senior hotel leadership roles, ideally in boutique or luxury properties; A strong background in accommodation management, with proven success in a competitive urban market; Strong financial skills with experience managing P&Ls, budgeting, and cost controls; Hands-on F&B experience, ideally with venue launch or relaunch exposure; Exceptional communication and leadership skills to inspire, motivate and guide your team; A proactive and detail-oriented approach to operations, guest service and presentation; Knowledge of PMS (RMS preferred), Channel Management, POS, and accounting systems; A clear commitment to Work Health & Safety and compliance standards; A passion for boutique hospitality and delivering unique guest experiences.
