Senior Cloud Engineer. Location: QLD - Brisbane CBD. 12-month Senior Cloud Engineer contract with Fed Gov.

Your new company: Our client is an Australian government scheme that funds reasonable and necessary supports associated with significant and permanent disability. An opportunity is available for a 12-month senior cloud engineer contract.

Your new role: The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will be situated in a multi-skilled team to support our platforms and applications by providing in-depth troubleshooting and backend analysis to effectively resolve issues. As a senior cloud platform engineer, you will have a high attention to detail, and you'll have the ability to prioritize and take ownership. You will be comfortable working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders with a high aptitude for learning in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for someone who has a passion and drive for working in a technical environment, utilizing the latest tools and technologies in a cloud-focused organization.

A successful candidate will demonstrate leadership skills, which will be utilized to effectively coach and develop level 2 technicians.

What you'll need to succeed: You must be an Australian citizen. Demonstrated a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in technical roles; demonstrated high-level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills. A positive attitude with the desire to learn and develop skills. Demonstrated experience working within cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS). Including understanding of concepts such as Linux/Windows operating systems, networking, IAM, capacity planning, and troubleshooting. Excellent experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Cloudwatch, or Dynatrace and supporting SAAS products.

Knowledge of container/Kubernetes-based environments and a good understanding of DevOps principles. Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team, delivering robust, scalable solutions, and demonstrated a strong commitment to meeting agreed work targets and standards. Experience working with version control systems (GitLab, GitHub). Familiarity with Terraform.
