Senior Financial Accountant. Mars Recruitment, Perth, WA. Financial Accounting & Reporting (Accounting). Contract/Temp. $130k - $140k p.a. + superannuation.

The Company Mars is partnering with a privately held mining services business that is looking for a senior accountant. This will be a hands-on opportunity covering controllership, financial planning and analysis, and some project work to support the team with an ERP implementation. This role will suit a profile that is willing to partner with the business and "roll up their sleeves" to continuously drive improvements across the group and function. The Role: Reporting to the financial controller, the responsibilities will not be limited to the following: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with AASB and tax regulations. Generate monthly management reports, conduct variance analysis, and support decision-making. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management. Monitor and analyze operational costs, identifying areas for efficiency improvements. Support external audits, manage tax obligations (GST, FBT, income tax), and liaise with auditors. Strengthen internal controls, improve financial processes, and enhance the ERP system. Partner with operational teams and senior leadership to provide financial insights and guidance.

The Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field and CPA/CA Qualified

3-5 years of experience in financial and management accounting, ideally within a mining business. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage both finance and operational stakeholders. A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.
