Your expertise in data warehousing, real-time streaming (Apache Kafka), and distributed computing will shape the future of our data infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure top-tier data integration, governance, and security.

Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, high-performance data warehouses. Develop long-term data management and integration strategies. Lead evaluations and recommend best-fit technologies for real-time and batch processing. Optimize ETL/ELT workflows, data pipelines, and distributed storage. Architect and maintain Kafka-based streaming platforms. Ensure compliance with data security and regulatory standards. Utilize distributed computing technologies to process and analyze large datasets efficiently. Present architectural strategies, progress, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders. Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders. Drive adoption of new technologies and methodologies in data warehousing, big data, and streaming analytics.

Qualifications and experience: Eight+ years in data architecture, warehousing, and engineering. 3-5 years working with Apache Kafka and real-time streaming. Strong experience with AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery. Expertise in SQL performance tuning and database optimization. Hands-on with Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Presto. Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing. Deep knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance. Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency data architectures. The reference number for this position is NG60309, which is a permanent position in Durban offering a salary of R1.2mil to R1.4mil CTC salary negotiable based on experience.
