A leading autonomous Namibian bank, committed to providing superior financial services to individual and corporate clients, as well as international banking services through global financial centers, is seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer. This role offers deep insight into compliance, IT methodologies, and best practices within the group while ensuring data integrity and governance.

Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable Big Data pipelines using modern data platforms. Expert in mapping data flows within Azure Data Factory, ensuring seamless integration and transformation of structured and unstructured data. Act as a data custodian, ensuring data sharing aligns with information classification policies and access control measures. Utilize Python, Spark, SQL, and Kusto to develop efficient data processing solutions. Implement and optimize Azure Data Solutions, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Explorer, and Azure Databricks. Drive data engineering best practices with a strong foundation in data warehouse design and architecture.

Apply DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies to streamline data workflows. Knowledge of advanced analytics and BI tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.

Qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field focused on data-intensive applications. Proven experience in architecting and implementing scalable data pipelines in cloud environments.

Expertise in managing Azure infrastructure components, including: Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, Azure AD, and AD Connect. Operations Management Suite/Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, Azure Site Recovery. Azure Backup, Azure App Services, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Server, MySQL.

Azure Automation and related tools: Strong expertise in mapping data flows within Azure Data Factory, ensuring efficient data transformation and orchestration. Proficiency in Python, Spark, and SQL for data engineering tasks. The reference number for this position is NG59460, which is a contract position in Fourways, Johannesburg, offering a salary of R500 up to R600 per hour negotiable based on experience.
