We are looking for a Greenhouse Gas Accounting Advisor to play a pivotal role in our journey to Net Zero. What you’ll do Green House Gas Emissions Accounting (GHG) – assist in the oversight of GHG metrics reporting governance and risk management. Group GHG metrics and delivery for public disclosures and internal reporting. Support in the management of external third-party assurance engagement and audits. Data owner relationships – supporting the data owners and key stakeholders within Underwriting and Investments, Controlled Operations and Claims Supply Chain, to ensure strategic Net Zero outcomes and mandatory disclosures through the coordinated collation, analysis and reporting of GHG metrics and data improvement plans. GHG Accounting Platform – assist in the ownership of the Enterprise GHG Platform and integration into business processes.

Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the Group GHG Inventory that will form the basis of our Metrics for public disclosures in Suncorp Group financial statements and other internal communications. Sourcing and updating all reporting data required i.e., asset management, underwriting, energy usage (including renewable energy certificates and rooftop solar) supply chain, and purchased goods and services on a timely basis including from 3rd parties. Providing oversight of the Assurance process to ensure integrity of GHG metrics including GHG emissions inventories for Group scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Assist with the delivery of the GHG Data Quality Improvement Plan.

Job Requirements: Qualified in a GHG/Carbon Accounting, Sustainability or Analytics related field. At least 3 years’ experience in Sustainability, GHG/Carbon Accounting, Net Zero transition planning, decarbonisation. Data modelling experience and report writing. Managing complex datasets and data analysis. Ability to gather data, compile information, and provide options and scenarios. Commitment to increase understanding of sustainability reporting standard, frameworks and methodologies and best practices i.e., NGERS, SASB, TCFD, GHG Protocol, PCAF. Experience with and awareness of statutory record keeping requirements. Client relationship experience with a strong focus on customer service.
