HR manager for Spar Supermarket. Durbanville, Northern Suburbs. Company Name: Van Riebeeckshof Spar. Job Type: Full-Time. We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee all human resources functions for our group of three supermarkets in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The ideal candidate should have a strong HR background with at least 10 years of experience in human resources, payroll, and compliance. This role is critical in ensuring efficient HR operations, including payroll processing, shift management, employee relations, and regulatory submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll and Time Management: Oversee and process monthly payroll for all three stores using SAGE VIP. Manage daily staff clockings, ensuring accurate timekeeping and compliance. Plan and implement shift schedules for all employees across the stores.
Recruitment and Employee Relations: Handle the full recruitment process, including interviews, hiring, and onboarding. Manage performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary procedures. Conduct and oversee dismissals and hearings, ensuring compliance with labor laws.
HR Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies. Handle annual Employment Equity (EE) submissions. Manage all WandRSETA-related submissions.
General HR Functions: facilitate uniform orders and other staff-related administrative tasks. Support training and development initiatives as required. Address any HR-related issues that arise within the stores.
Required Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 10 years of HR experience, preferably in retail or FMCG. Strong payroll experience using Sage VIP. Knowledge of South African labor laws, EE regulations, and SETA processes. Proven experience in handling disciplinary processes, hearings, and dismissals. Experience in managing shift-based workforces in a fast-paced environment.
